KnowDays ("we", "our", or "the App") is a mobile application that provides cultural insights inspired by traditional Chinese metaphysics, including Bazi (Eight Characters), I Ching divination, Qi Men Dun Jia, and other ancient systems.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the App. By using KnowDays, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

• Email address — used for account creation, login, and communication.
• Password — stored in hashed form; we never store plaintext passwords.

2.2 Birth Profile (Optional)

To provide personalized fortune analysis, you may choose to provide:

• Date and time of birth — required for Bazi (Eight Characters) calculation.
• Birth city and country — used for true solar time correction to improve accuracy.
• Timezone and geographic coordinates — derived from your selected city.
• Occupation type — used to personalize career-related fortune insights.

This information is entirely optional. Without it, the App provides general (non-personalized) fortune content.

2.3 Location Information

• GPS coordinates — only if you grant permission, used to auto-detect your birth city for true solar time calculation.
• IP-based approximate location — used for timezone detection when GPS is unavailable.

2.4 Usage Data

• Divination records (queries and results you generate).
• App interaction data (pages visited, features used, session duration).
• Device information (platform, OS version, screen size).

2.5 Transaction Data

• Purchase history via Apple In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing.
• We do not store payment card details; all transactions are processed by Apple or Google.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Fortune Calculation — Birth profile data is used to compute Bazi pillars, daily fortune scores, and personalized advice.
• True Solar Time — Geographic data enables astronomically accurate time correction for non-UTC+8 users.
• AI Analysis — Your divination results may be sent to our AI service (hosted in Singapore) to generate interpretive text.
• Service Improvement — Anonymized usage patterns help us improve features and fix bugs.
• Account Management — Email is used for login, password recovery, and important service notices.

4. Data Storage & Security

• All personal data is stored on servers located in Singapore.
• Data is transmitted over TLS/HTTPS encryption.
• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (bcrypt).
• AI-generated interpretations are processed via Alibaba Cloud's Bailian API (Singapore region); your birth data is not shared with third parties beyond what is necessary for this service.
• We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 6).

5. Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — Update or correct your birth profile and account information at any time within the App.
• Deletion — Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below.
• Data Portability — Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
• Withdraw Consent — Revoke GPS/location permissions at any time via your device settings.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

The App uses the following local storage mechanisms:

8. Children's Privacy

KnowDays is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
